I realised that as I started this blog so late into my stay here that I never got the chance to talk about some of the places we have managed to visit.
Podhum: A small village where Mr B's Grandfather lives and Mr B's family name originates from. We spent a day there by the river, having a BBQ (rostilj) and swimming in the icy water. Mr B and I went for a walk up the mountain, but were barred by spiky thistles, bees, the heat, and the possibility of snakes. A local man even stopped to tell us to be careful of the slithery things. My in-laws have land by the river in Podhum, which they intend to turn into a summer house - one day. It is just beautiful around there. I am looking forward to going again when the weather gets better.

Grandpa B's house in Podhum. An old style Bosnian residence complete with exterior toilet and showers for flush. Gotta be seen to be believed. Gorgeous in it's simplicity though. |

Here are some views from our walk up the large hill above Podhum. |
